Data & methodology
How Erikiimo rates risk
Data we use
- Forecast data
- Hourly rain, temperature and humidity for the next 3 days.
- Elevation data
- Ground height at the facility, from a terrain model.
- Address data
- Turns an address into map coordinates and a place name.
- Your facility records
- Facilities, assets, stock and dependencies you add to your workspace.
How risk levels are set
The free snapshot compares each local day’s forecast with general screening thresholds. Anything below Elevated is Normal.
| Hazard | Elevated | High | Critical |
|---|---|---|---|
| Heavy rain (daily total) | 20 mm | 50 mm | 100 mm |
| Extreme heat (daily high) | 33 °C | 36 °C | 40 °C |
| Humidity (daily average) | 80 % | 90 % | Not used |
Facilities 10 m or less above sea level are described as low-lying; this never raises a level on its own. Missing data is shown as Insufficient data, never as Normal. In your workspace, your own asset records and protection rules replace these general thresholds.
Freshness
Every risk shows its data type and when the data was retrieved. Identical snapshot requests are reused for up to an hour.
Limits
Forecasts can change, especially beyond two days. Screening thresholds are not ratings for your equipment, and the snapshot does not estimate damage, probability or money. Erikiimo supports decisions; it does not replace professional judgement or emergency services.
